"The Driver's Seat" is the 13th episode and the season 1 finale of Megas XLR.

Plot Summary[]

While defending off the Glorft, Coop is flexing that he doesn't spill his orange soda in the car but Kiva again gets annoyed by Coop behaivour. Coop decides to test out one of the new modifications he instaled into Megas, ignoring Jamie's warnings that Coop's modifications have a history of backfiring. When Coop pushes a button on Megas' console, he accidentally teleports himself into the Karrajor, the Glorft mothership, where he is captured by Glorft.

Without Coop, Megas quickly falls from the sky. Kiva attempts to pilot Megas, but given her lack of familiarity with Megas' controls, she can only evade the Glorft for a short time, causing massive amounts of collateral damage in the process. Her inexperience with Megas leads her into crashing Megas into the Glorft mothership.

Gorrath interrogates Coop in an attempt to learn the secrets behind Megas' time drive. He even tortures Coop by eating his favorite meals in front of him, but Coop refuses. Gorrath receives news that Megas has crashed into the mothership and sends a team to retrieve it. He also orders the Karrajor to be taken near the Earth's orbit and declares that it's time for the Glorft to conquer the future.

Jamie and Kiva are imprisoned, while Gorrath attempts to force Coop into activating Megas' time drive. Coop, aware that the Glorft don't know that he destroyed the time drive's control unit, decides to play along. As Gorrath sits on the passenger's seat, Coop activates the seat's ejection and Gorrath is thrown off Megas' control center, giving Coop enough time to escape. He drives around the ship, trying to find his friends and evading the Glorft's mechs along the way.

At the Karrajor's prison cells, Jamie complains to Kiva that ever since she showed up, Coop has spent more time saving the world than having fun with him. Jamie even admits that Coop is his best friend and without him, Jamie is left with nothing. Kiva incapacitates the distracted guards and helps Jamie escape from the cells, just in time for Coop to rescue them onboard his car.

Gorrath and his forces surround Coop's car, but Coop has already summoned Megas' body, which defeats a significant portion of the Glorft army. With Megas complete, Coop decides to fight his way out of the Karrajor. Unfortunately, the Glorft hold the home field advantage and greater numbers. During the fight, Megas loses its left arm and Gorrath decides to activate his most powerful mech: the Eradicator.

The Eradicator is, in reality, the Karrajor itself transformed into a massive cannon that will destroy the Earth. Gorrath initially wanted to conquer humanity, but with Coop's constant interferences, he has decided to destroy the planet, even if that means destroying Megas and its time drive. Coop desperately presses every button he can find, but he accidentally teleports his soda into the Karrajor's command bridge.

The soda falls into a vital console and causes a short-circuit that heavily damages the ship's null-space generators. The Karrajor is consumed by a massive singularity, but not before Gorrath promises to return. Megas barely escapes from the explosion, and Kiva expresses surprise that Coop destroyed the Glorft.
