Jax is a member of the super hero team S-Force from planet Sarus. He was the voiced by Alan Young.
Summary
While the rest of S-Force understands him clearly, Jax communicates with a mix of clicks, grunts, and screeches that are totally unintelligible to humans. Why he speaks this way is unexplained, since the rest of S-Force speak perfect English. He is also physically the weakest of the S-Force, at one point repeatedly punching Coop in the gut, with the former being totally unphased. One of his eyes is black with a red sclera (which would be white in humans), while the other appears normal with a blue iris. Both eyes tend to wander, giving him a deranged or feral appearance.
After Coop defeated S-Force's arch enemy Ender, Coop tried to introduce Jax to handheld video games, but Jax didn't understand what the device was and chewed it to bits like a feral dog. Presumably, Coop's bad influence on him was the weakest.
Jax pilots the purple Kangaroo Zorp.
Personality
Much like the rest of his team, Jax is very naive and unflatteringy good. However he seems to be more rude and foul-mouthed than the others, although its hidden behind his monkey-like vocabulary. After coming to regard Coop as an Ally, Jax began loving video games and fast food. The single words of english he's ever shown to say are 'go!' and 'Word.'
Notes
- Jax's communication method echoes that of the Copper Kid from Silverhawks, who only communicated through whistles (and who also was apparently understood by everyone who could speak English except for the audience).
- It's actually based on Keyop, a variation of Jinpei from Battle of the Planets (the first English adaption of Gatchaman), who communicates with chirps and sounds sluttered with English words. In fact, Jax is voiced by Alan Young, who parodied his original role as Keyop when voicing Jax.
